Fire and Ice: The Daring Adventures Of Cool Coyote (now that's a long title) is a computer game released by Graftgold in 1992 for the Amiga OCS/ECS and the Atari ST/E. Two years later, an enhanced CD32 and Amiga AGA versions followed.

STORY / GAMEPLAY You control a cute coyote named Cool on a quest to go through eight worlds in pursuit of the evil wizard Suten. In each level you collect fragments of a key that will grant you access to the next part. Those fragments can be obtained by killing other creatures that swarm the area. You can attack a creature by shooting ice pellets at it and freeze it. Note that this causes no actual damage and the freezing state will stop after a while so you must kill it when it's still frozen. There are also some hidden warp gates that can transport you to other lands and possibly hidden bonus zones. The game is a good looking but hard jump and run platform with pretty sensitive controls! You'll need quite some skill to get Coyote where you want since the ice world platforms are very slippery.
GRAPHICS / SOUND The Atari STE version of Fire and Ice is actually a fairly enhanced ST version (but it could still be a standard ST game with a very well chosen palette) that features nice gradients at the frozen sea and control panel (but not at the sky). It is using 16 shades of blue all on its own and surely there is a bit too much coloring to be a standard ST game (there are around 100 colors on screen!) Note that, the impressive Amiga shimmering water effect at the bottom of the screen is missing from the STE. Also, both foregrounds and backgrounds scroll smooth enough on the STE models since they have a Blitter (a chip that acts as a co-processor for loading large memory data to the CPU, much like Amiga the models)! The sound on the STE is identical to the standard ST version with some nice sound effects and a catchy in-game music!

The STE version had minimal differences to the original ST. Well mainly it was more fluid the animation (Blitter used!) but the graphics and sound I think are identical.
